Service - ELECROLYTIC COLORING (AKA Optical Black)

Commonly referred to as “2 Step Coloring”, after anodizing the material is immersed in a bath containing inorganic tin salt. Current is applied which deposits the tin salt in the base of the pores of the anodic coating. By varying the voltage and the process time a range of colors from champagne to black is produced. The range of colors can be expanded by overdyeing with organic dyes. This process offers color versatility and the most technically advanced coloring quality.
 
Electrolytic Coloring is used extensively in residential and commercial architecture, sporting goods, electronic equipment and other applications. The finish that is produced is lightfast, weather resistant and heat resistant. By altering pretreatment processes, both satin (matte) or highly reflective (bright dip) surface finishes are available.
